Hygor Piaget Monteiro Melo obtained his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil (2016). From 2019 to 2022 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the CFTC (ULisbon) studying the collective dynamics of cancer cells on flat substrates.
His main areas of interest are non-equilibrium statistical mechanics and computational social science. His research is focused on a Model from Data approach to understand and predict the collective human behavior taking urban mobility into account as a key element.
